Why are knots important?

The ability to connect ropes and lashes with knots is part of the first knowledge of human beings. Nodes play an important role in human culture.
With knots was decorated, it was counted with knotted strings, and knots were used to sign treaties. There was even a language written with knots. Things are inextricably knotted, or you want to link something to keep it forever.

In spite of the cultural-historical significance of knots, a modern human being can ty in average no more than 4 to 5 knots. Anyone who does not know important knots, prunes his roots to the origins of mankind. Just like someone who cannot make and maintain a fire in nature. It is hardly noticeable in everyday life, but in special situations the human primal knowledge can be of great importance.
Anyone who can safely handle ropes and strings will always have advantages from this knowledge all his life.
